Silverstone Circuit in Brackley, Northamptonshire, England hosts the next round of the 2021 Formula 1 Championship on July 18th. As Jenson Button said, the 5.8km circuit is “a great challenge and some of the corners are the best in Formula 1.” The circuit is 52 laps and the current lap record of 1:27.097 is held by Max Verstappen (2020).
Initially an airfield in the early 1940’s, the circuit was converted and ready for it’s first race in 1947. Silverstone held it’s first grand prix race in 1950. It is the oldest track on the calendar!
